Durable Applied Surfaces >> Vitruv/Vitori

VITRUV

Vitruv is a proprietary tinted concrete veneer that is hand applied and has been specified and installed in a wide variety of interior environments. Pursuing the goal of becoming an increasingly sustainable company, DFB has submitted our Durable Applied Surfaces to Rochester Institute of Technology’s Sustainable Research Center.  RIT has evaluated our Durable Applied Surfaces for Green Building Products to be specified in projects applying for LEED Certification.

FEATURES & BENEFITS

AESTHETICS
- Vitruv finishes are developed by artisans
- Custom colors can be developed from any established color palette and a variety of finishes are available
- Color fast. Our tints are integrated into the cement and not simply a topical color treatment, such as paint
- Seamless, this troweled finish, unlike roll goods, provides a continuous surface
- Resilient, unlike other delicate finishes, the acrylic copolymers in Vitruv render this product impervious to cracking and make it ideal for curved or free-form    wall and  ceiling surface applications

DURABILITY
The primary ingredient in Vitruv is cement which makes it extremely durable.  Unlike other delicate finished such as Venetian or Polished Plasters, the acrylic copolymers in Vitruv render this product impervious to cracking and make it ideal for curved and free-form wall and ceiling surface applications. The color will never fade and the integrity of the surface maintains its character. Unlike typical wallcoverings manufactured as roll goods, the life of Vitruv is much longer. Vitruv is very flexible and prevents chipping and cracking (ASTM C-836).  Only after 15,000 rub cycles is the substrate exposed making Vitruv one of the most durable products on the market.  Vitruv is ideal for Healthcare, Education, and Retail projects that sustain traffic in high visibility areas.

SUSTAINABILITY
For LEED Certified building projects, Vitruv provides:
- Low VOC Content

- Vitruv's durability reduces the need for frequent maintenance and repair.(ASTM D-609 – Tensile Strength)

- Vitruv's flexibility prevents cracking and chipping, particularly in formed and shaped walls and ceiling(ASTM C-836)
- Vitruv's wear resistance prevents the needs for reapplication of the finish (ASTM C-501)
- For Non-Caustic Cleaning use a mild liquid non-abrasive soap (e.g. Dove, Ivory) diluted 75% with water
- Local Manufacturing, Vitruv is manufactured in Long Island City within 500 miles of the eastern seaboard
- Containment is reached with this proprietary concrete veneer in the drying process of the application
- Vitruv is recommended as a Lead Encapsulate
