Does it come with a pocket?

What sizes are available for pockets?
500 Series: Sizes are 3 1/4" sq, 4 1/2" sq 5 1/2" sq 5 1/2" x 7” and 7 1/2" x 7"
400 Series: Sizes are 3 1/4" sq, 4 1/2" sq
Who installs the pocket?
Frequently the shade pocket is installed well in advance of the shades and that\"s why the general contractors are better equipped to install shade pockets. However depending on circumstances DFB will be able to install the pockets.
Who installs the blocking?
General contractor always handle "blocking", if any is required, thru their subs.
Where is the motor located?
The motor is inside the shade tube. The motors have built in thermal overloads and limit switches.
What is the voltage?
The standard motor runs on 120 VAC. 220VAC can be obtained if required.
Line vs. Low Voltage?
Traditional line voltage requires more wiring than low voltage.
Can shades be controlled by other systems?
Yes. Interfaces are available to interconnect with all the popular automation systems.
Are switches needed?
One switch can control up to 5 shades without any other controllers, above that, group controllers can be introduced.
How is the shade controlled?
It is controlled by the switch on the wall or hand held remotes.
How big can a shade be?
500 Series: There is no limit to the size; a shade can be made 20\" x 20\"? The only real limit is a ratio between the width and the length. This is 4:1. If shades exceed this limit there are problems with them going up straight.
400 Series: Shades can be up to 12’ square. For larger sizes, use the 500 series motor. The other limit is a ratio between the width and the length. This is 4:1. If shades exceed this limit there are problems with them going up straight.
What is banding?
It is possible to operate up to five shades with one motor if the openings are contiguous. This is sometimes preferable when the window is larger than the fabric and a seam is not desirable.
Can a valance be covered with fabric?
Valances can be covered in a fabric to meet your requirements. Ask your DFB Account Representative for details.
What is the maximum size of a valance?
The standard valance is 4 1/2" deep. The maximum unsupported width should not exceed 12\".
Is it possible to have custom color?
All aluminum parts can be custom painted. There will be a set up charge and a unit cost for the painting. Ask your DFB rep for details.
