The way pleated shades were meant to look. Manufactured for the past 80 years the classic Athey Shade is instantly recognizable for its beautiful hand-sewn construction and fastidious workmanship. The original pleated shade and is now offered in dual operation, skylight and incline options with custom fittings. Fabricated using a fine cotton twill that is machine stitched in 15/8" pleats.
Unlike most flat, machine-pleated window shades, Athey Shade’s sculpted surface and graceful construction stand out as the ultimate pleated shade. At a surprisingly affordable price, Athey Shades marry dignified old world craftsmanship with state-of-the-art extruded aluminum head rails. The simple Athey design amalgamates timeless good looks with reliable operation.
Model 1 (single pull-top down)
This model is the standard configuration for raising the shade and is available in manual or motorized versions.
Model 2 (double pull-top down/bottom up)
This model offers the additional option of stacking the Athey Shade on the sill. Also raising halfway up, providing privacy and light.
Model 3 (double pull with guides-top down/bottom up)
The same as model 2, this version features the addition of guide wires (brass or stainless steel) on the sides of the shades. This configuration can be inclined to 20% from vertical.
Model 4 (skylight application-incline/skylight)
This model can be used on all incline windows (from 20% to 90% from vertical).Bottom-up/top-down options and motorized are available. This configuration requires the use of guide wires on the shade.

Choose white or natural Indian canvas in a very fine herringbone twill weave.
Sol-R-Control shade cloth
Athey Shades are available in a broad range of open-weave vinyl-coated fiberglass shade cloth in a wide range of colors. Sol-R-Control shade cloth reduces solar heat gain up to 70% and ultraviolet light up to 80%, depending on the degree of visual transparency.
COM (Customers own material)
Athey shades can be fabricated from a wide variety of fabrics, which are sewn, not laminated, to light-weight canvas, woven polyester fabric, blackout material, or transparent Mylar film. The required application of fabric to a backing material lends body to the fabric but does not stiffen or flatten it.
All hand sewn pleats are 15/8" wide.
