WHAT IS AN ATHEY SHADE?
Athey shade is a custom sewn 1 5/8” pleated shade that hangs flat and when used in combination with a backing creates a unique look. Athey has a slight puckering effect due to the defined horizontal pleat. Each fabric reacts differently giving you the ability to create endless looks and combinations.
HOW DO ATHEY SHADES OPERATE?
Athey shade is available in top down, bottom up, dual operation and sloped versions. Athey is available in manual and motorized versions except where dual operation is required.
WHAT TYPES OF FABRICS ARE AVAILABLE?
Custom woven canvas with a very slight herring bone, the Athey Shade Collection and COM. There are 3 styles of backing, canvas, sheer and black out. A full line of solar fabrics are available with coated and uncoated yarns.
HOW DO I SELECT HARDWARE?
You will need to select either brass or stainless steel guide wire, grommets and sill plate. You will also need to select the color of the head rail and wooden tassels. Shades can have a cord lift in a coordinated color, or a continuous bead chain that is connected to a take-up lift system or they can be motorized.
HOW DO ATHEY SHADES STACK?
A 96” long shade will stack between 3¼” x 5¼” based on the fabric selected which is about 5%, you will need to add 3 inches for motorization. This shade is easy to recess for both manual and motorized.
